Newt Gingrich Saves

June 10, 2009

With America in the grip of the worst recession since the Great Depression, two ongoing wars, Pakistan devolving into a morass worse than Iraq or Afghanistan, our oil and gas supplies still tethered to the instability of the middle east and the consequences of global warming yet undetermined, what is the most pressing problem our country faces? What consequential efforts should our leaders be engaged in? Newt Gingrich, positioning himself for a potential run for the White House in 2012 has the answer:

Gingrich’s latest venture into the conservative evangelical world came when he spoke/preached at Lou Engle’s “Rediscovering God in America” conference last Friday, hosted by Rock Church in Virginia Beach and broadcast on GodTV. “The first thing we need in America is spiritual,” Gingrich told the congregation. “The first job we have as Americans is to reach out to everybody in the country who is not yet saved, and to help them understand the spiritual basis of a creator-endowed society.”
