The Funny Side of Torture

I wrote yesterday that the constant torture stories in the news, while important and newsworthy, may be having the effect of desensitizing us to previously shocking behavior. That’s human nature, of course. It’s also part of our nature to find humor where we can, even in the darkest situations. And, now, we have word about a playwright who has tried to do just that. At NPR there is an audio interview with Christopher Durang who talks about his latest play, a satire entitled, “Why Torture is Wrong and the People Who Love Them”.
