Raul Castro, Barack Obama and the Future of Cuba

At the Economist, an introduction to Raul Castro and the new direction of US/Cuba relations:

Raúl Castro, who replaced his elder brother as Cuba’s president last year, has said he wants “dialogue” with Mr Obama. The two governments have co-operated in the past about migration and drugs and could do so again. But on Thursday April 16th he went further, saying that he would be open to discussion about “everything” including human rights, political prisoners and press freedom. It is these issues that divide the two countries most sharply.
